How to make a QR code
Choose a type: URL, text, Wi-Fi, email, phone, SMS or contact. Fill in the details and the preview updates instantly. Download a PNG (512 or 1024 pixels) for chat and documents, or an SVG for print that needs to scale up.
Wi-Fi QR codes
Enter the network name (SSID), choose WPA/WPA2, WEP or no password, and enter the password. Guests can scan to connect without typing. Anyone who can scan it can read the password, so share it only with people you trust. The password is never put in the page's link.
QR code styles and colors
Classic is the easiest to scan, Rounded uses round dots, and Modern Color uses a dark color on a light background. If colors have too little contrast, or the background is darker than the code, downloads are blocked because it may not scan. Test with a real phone before printing.
Making it easy to scan
Shorter content makes a coarser, easier-to-scan code. Keep a quiet zone of at least 4 modules around it. Higher error correction (L, M, Q, H) survives more damage but makes the code denser; Auto suits most uses. When printing, aim for at least about 2 cm per side.
Privacy
QR codes are created in your browser. What you enter is not sent anywhere and not saved. Links must start with https:// or http://, which blocks unsafe link types.
Frequently asked questions
Do these QR codes expire?
No. The data is stored in the code itself, with no redirect or tracking service. If the linked page changes or is removed, though, people scanning it won't reach it.
Can I edit a QR code after printing it?
No. Create a new code and print it again.
