How to pick a random name
Type or paste your list with one name per line, and the count of valid entries updates instantly. Choose “Pick one” and press “Pick a name” to see a large, readable winner, then copy it or pick again. It works as a random name picker for classrooms, giveaways and team events.
How the wheel selects a winner
When you press “Spin”, the winner is chosen first with a secure random generator, and the wheel then spins to stop on that name, so spin speed has no effect on the result. The wheel shows up to 36 names so they stay readable. With reduced motion turned on, the result appears without spinning.
How to remove winners and draw again
Press “Remove winner & pick again” to take that name off the list and draw again straight away, which suits prize draws with several rounds. Names are never removed unless you press it.
How to split participants into teams
Choose “Split teams”, enter the number of teams and press “Split teams”. The list is shuffled fairly and dealt into teams whose sizes differ by at most one, so no one is duplicated or left out.
How fairness and duplicates work
By default duplicates are ignored, every name has the same chance, and the number ignored is shown. To give someone more chances, choose “Count every line as a ticket”: a name on several lines then gets that many chances. Team splits always use distinct names.
Frequently asked questions
Is my list saved or sent anywhere?
No. Names, results and history stay on this page and are gone when you close or reload it.
How many times can I draw?
As many as you like. Each draw is independent of the previous ones.
Can multiple winners include the same name twice?
No. Each winner is different, even when every line counts as a ticket.
